RECAP Oasis Montreal’s Opening Weekend

It’s a wrap! This weekend was the first official opening of Oasis Montreal to kick off the season of the Beachclub! If you didn’t know it yet, the Beachclub moves its operation for four weeks in Montreal on the Olympic Park’s Esplanade so you can get the Beach Day Every Day vibe even if you’re not at Pointe-Calumet.

For this first day, bass music was in the house with I_O, Ekali, and Rezz. Before then, Ozzy and Seb Tender were presenting sets. They started the party and warmed up the crowd. I_O has a more underground sound: he is a progressive and techno DJ.

Ekali who’s in electronic music since 2014, has a sound more EDM and dance. He played Gold (Stupid Love) by Excision & Illenium, his remix Faded de ZHU,  Vibin Chicken Soup (Chase Me Mashup) featuring Skrillex, Habstrak, Quix, Migos, and Deville, and also his remix Losing it by Fisher. He made the crowd dance during all his set!

The crowd was hyped when Rezz began her set it was insane! Everyone was waiting for this moment and enjoying her sound. With her trippy visuals, her signature light-up glasses, and her singular sound, she owned the stage big time! Rezz played « Life & Death », « Alien », « This is the new shit (Rezz Revision) ». She is on top of the electronic scene and her set was a huge success for this opening day. She finished her set with her remix Divinity by Porter Robinson. It was perfect. Hoping to see you next weekend!

Jamie Jones

The first weekend of Oasis ended on a really good note, on Sunday, with Jamie Jones spinning. More than 2500 persons were partying under the sun to the DJ’s music.

Drink in hand and smile on the lips, all took advantage of this spring day that has set the tone for the summer that awaits us at the Beachclub. We finally reached summer temperatures, and it was easy to enjoy the music offered by the DJs on site.

All afternoon, the mood was for partying, while DJs Nathan Barato, Matador and Tiga were on stage to make room for Jamie Jones a little later in the evening.

The first to step on the Budlight stage was Nathan Barato, Toronto Dance/Electro DJ. He set the festive vibe in the Oasis with his two hours + set. DJ Matador provided the fun atmosphere of late afternoon which was very conducive to the party and meetings among friends. The winner of the DJ Award for Best Electronic Live Performance has shown that he deserves this title by bringing the crowd together on the dancefloor. Then came on stage Tiga, for an excellent set. With his remixes like Washing up and Eye Luv U, he captivated the attention of the crowd and made them dance under the sun.

It was at sunset that Jamie Jones came on stage, in front of a delightful crowd, already very festive. He put on the songs one after the other, to the great enjoyment of his audience. The British DJ was very generous with his time by performing for a full set of over 2 hours. He also ended his set with success, his remix Enough To Believe.

All day, the vibe you could feel at the Oasis was merry and friendly. The Oasis Montreal is the perfect place to end the week and forget that real life starts again the next day!
